It is with great regret that we have to acknowledge that the media, Internet and music industry has corrupted many of our youth’s ability to have empathy respect and love for one another.

TangoChicago offers students an opportunity to experience and learn Argentine Tango. We believe this art form has a life-altering benefits for each person that takes the journey.

We have found that Tango offers a chance of exposure to people from different cultures, ethnicities, religions, professions and to have networking opportunities that most interactions don’t allow.

As a part of Tango’s social benefits young men change their opinions about their female counterparts in a respectful way. They suddenly realize that their female partners are a reflection of themselves, and that their partners are an equal in the creative process not subservient objects to be used as props while dancing or in life.

Young ladies develop and gain overt independence and confidence in expressing their views, opinions and ethical traditions without guilt or fear of peer pressure. We mentor and encourage socially awkward kids, teens and young adults to develop a healthy mindset toward the opposite sex.

TangoChicago notes that when young people are learning this art form there is no interest in proving their manhood, worrying about vanity, or bullying. Additionally there is never an advantage for anyone to brandish a knife or gun to look good on a dance floor. These new dancers learn rather quickly how to impress others with just their feet.
